In Ungarn wird am 12. April ein neues Parlament gewählt. Umfragen sehen den langjährigen Regierungschef Orbán derzeit hinter Oppositionsführer Péter Magyar.
Der rechtsnationalistische Regierungschef ist in der EU als Blockierer bekannt und steht Trump nicht zuletzt wegen ihrer gemeinsamen Ablehnung von Migration nahe. Der 62-Jährige besuchte Trump schon mehrfach in dessen Residenz Mar-a-Lago in Florida.
